Music & Dance Festival 1998-1999

Smt.Sudharani Raghupathy was conferred the title of 'Sangeetha Kalanipuna' by Sri T.N.Seshan during the inauguration of the forty-seventh year art festival at The Mylapore Fine Arts Club, Chennai, on 12th. December,'98.

She also received the 'Horanadu Kannada Artiste' award from the Karnataka Sangeetha Nrthya Academy on 9th. January,'99 in Bangalore.

Vidwan Madurai N.Krishnan, Director-Trustee of Shree Bharatalaya, was conferred the title of 'Sangeetha Kala Sarathy' by Semmangudi Dr.R.Srinivasa Iyer during the inauguration of the 'Isai Vizha' at Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha on 16th. December,'98.

The title of Yuva Kala Bharathi was conferred on Sri K.S.R.Aniruddha (Treasurer-Trustee, Shree Bharatalaya) for Mridangam (special category for dance) by Semmangudi Dr.R.Srinivas Iyer, during the inauguration of the twelfth Margazhi Mahotsav at Bharat Kalachar on 10th. December, '98.

Kum. Gayatri Ramaratnam, student of Shree Bharatalaya, was adjudged the best performer at the Music Academy's 'Spirit of Youth Festival of Dance - 1998'. She received the 'Dr.M.G.R. Award' from Bharat Ratna Sri C.Subramaniam at the 'Sadas' on 1st. January, '99 at the Music Academy, Chennai.

Dr. Manjula Lusti Narasimhan, student of Shree Bharatalaya and founder of Silambam (alliance of Shree Bharatalaya at Geneva), was conferred the title 'Nadanamamani' at the inauguration of the 24th. Annual Dance Festival of Kartik Fine Arts on 4th. January, '99.

'Vande Guham Umarutham' a dance ballet on Lord Muruga, choreographed by Smt. Sudharani Raghupathy with musical score by Vidwan Madurai N. Krishnan and research by Prof. Thangaswami Sarma, was staged in The Mylapore Fine Arts Club's art festival on 19th. December, '98. This dance-drama featured Smt. Sudharani Raghupathy along with Kalaimamani Pritha Ratnam Muthanna, Smt. Priya Murle (faculty, Shree Bharatalaya), Smt. Nalini Prakash (Founder - Silambam, Coonoor), Smt. Shylaja Ramji (Founder - Silambam, T.Nagar, Chennai) and the students of Shree Bharatalaya.
