The music of India is the result of a sophisticated and ancient tradition. The beginnings of Indian music can be traced to the Vedas, and music has developed definite laws of theory and practice. The notes of the scale and basic rhythms are said to have come from the Lord himself - and it is not surprising therefore that Indian music developed as an adjunct to worship, and temples were the most important repositories of music and dance.

We bring you face to face with some of the most accomplished Indian classical musicians and also present here a few select reviews of performances at Chennai.

To invite any of the musicians in the Horizons' panel, just mail us at info@thehorizons.com with your requirements.
