 Priyadarshini GovindA commerce graduate with a course in Mass Communication behind her, Priyadarshini Govind's vocation is Bharatanatyam. After her arangetram in '74 under the auspices of the Mylapore Fine Arts Club, Madras, she has been performing in all the major centers in India. She has also travelled extensively in Europe, North America, South Africa and Asia on concert tours.
Some of her major performances include those at the :
- Festival of India, Paris
- Yuva Utsav at Kanpur, organised by the Sangeet Natak Akademi
- Cultural Tour to Afghanistan, organised by the ICCR
- Tour to South Africa, organsied by the Sangeet Natak Akademi
- The Khajuraho Fetsival
- Swarna Samaroh - a festival to commemorate 50 years of Indian Independence, organsied by the Sangeet Natak Akademi and the Government of India.
In addition to her many performances, Priyadarshini has also conducted workshops for the SPIC MACAY, Indian Rural and Cultural Development along with Smt. Kalanidhi Narayanan. She has also done a television serial on dance.
Under the guidance of her gurus, Sri Swamimalai K. Rajarathnam and Smt. Kalanidhi Narayanan, Priyadarshini has to her credit several coveted awards. These include :
- "Kalaimamani", the highest award of the state of Tamil Nadu
- "Vasanthalakshmi & Narasimhachari" Talent Endowment Award by the Narada Gana Sabha
- "Singar - Maini" by the Sur Singar Samsad, Mumbai
